Leon Taylor

Last week I had the pleasure of hearing Olympic silver medallist and creator of the world most difficult dive Leon Taylor speaking.

I learned several thing that relate directly to getting noticed at work.

1. Sometimes you suffer massive setbacks If you really want to achieve your goal you need to find a way to manage your head and get back on track..

2. If you want to be really good at something get a mentor and then start mentoring others as soon as you can.

3. It is critical to put in the training. In the case of an Olympian that is 7 hours a day 6 days a week for four years. Consistent sustained effort in the corporate world will always pay off and the good news it isn’t nearly so extreme!

Leon has written an excellent book called “Mentor” ISBN number 978-1-90726-04-6. It is filled with all sorts of practical tips and insight relating to the three key things I mention above.

Here’s to your success,

Hilary
